Tokyo's iconic Tsukiji fish market, demolished six years ago, is set to be replaced by a waterfront stadium and skyscrapers in a 900 billion yen ($5.7 billion) redevelopment project by Mitsui Fudosan. The plan includes office buildings, green spaces, hotels, and a biotechnology research center, with the aim to draw in people from Japan and abroad. While some oppose the project and suggest a garden instead, the development aims to make Japan more economically competitive and emotionally move people, according to executive Jiro Ueda.
