The Yahoo News reported on June 17 that the Ministry of Health and Welfare held a press conference to announce the results of the cause of death statistics for 2023. The Deputy Director of the National Health Agency, Jia Shuli, explained the effectiveness of cancer prevention and control programs. According to the United Daily News, cancer has been the leading cause of death for 42 consecutive years in Taiwan, with one person dying of cancer every 9 minutes and 53 seconds in 2023, compared to every 10 minutes and 7 seconds in 2022. In addition, the China Times reported that Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense Minister, Gu Liuxiong, revealed that all the missiles ordered from the United States are set to be delivered by the end of this year. The Central News Agency also covered the farewell remarks of AIT Taipei Office Director Sandra Oudkirk, warning about the risks of unnecessary provocations towards China. Lastly, the Liberty Times reported that the US Indo-Pacific Command is planning various projects using a massive number of unmanned weapons to counter a potential invasion by the PLA in Taiwan's Strait.
