Township Chief Prosecuted for Traveling to Mainland China, Hsu Shu-hua Criticizes Anti-Infiltration Law Restricting People-to-People Exchanges

On June 30, 2024, Nantou County Chief Hsu Shu-hua criticized the Anti-Infiltration Law for limiting people-to-people exchanges. She denounced how some township chiefs from Taiwan who traveled to the mainland were prosecuted or sentenced, viewing it as a political ideology interfering with civilian exchanges. Hsu emphasized the need to discuss and amend this oppressive law during a Nationalist Party event in Nantou, where various legislative improvements and financial reforms were also addressed.
