Trade Fragmentation Threatens Global Growth and Increases Inflation, Warns ECB's Schnabel

In her presentation, she noted that severe disruptions in trade could raise inflation by several percentage points initially, while mild decoupling effects could linger below 1% for years. She emphasized that trade fragmentation is fundamentally damaging to both economic growth and inflation.
