According to Taiwan Expressway Administration, this summer holiday is expected to see a significant increase in travel vehicles on highways across the country. During the summer vacation period from July 1st to August 29th, traffic volume is estimated to be about 1.2 times higher than the average weekday traffic volume in 112 years. To address this issue, the Administration plans to implement five major highway traffic control measures during this period, including high occupancy restrictions, shoulder lane openings, alternative routes recommendations, construction suspensions on weekends, and ramp metering. They advise drivers to be cautious of possible congestion and vehicle malfunctions due to the hot weather and recommend using the 1968 App for emergencies.
