During an accident at the intersection of Kangding Road and Neijiang Street in Wanhua District, Taipei City, where a pedestrian was killed by a cement truck without any traffic guidance, Councilor Wu Pei-yi and Legislator Liu Yao-jen criticized the city government for negligence and demanded a halt to work, pointing out a history of complaints about lack of traffic control. They also condemned the government for only planning to fine 18,000 yuan after a life was lost. Authorities promise to review the construction company's traffic maintenance plan and improve safety measures before allowing work to resume.
