On June 8, 2024, multiple accidents caused traffic congestion on the highways, especially on the first day of the long weekend. The National Freeway Bureau predicts that on the second day of the holiday (6/9), there will be 18 congested sections with a total highway traffic volume of 112 million vehicle-kilometers, 1.2 times the daily average. Notably, northbound traffic has reached 1.3 times the average with 58 million vehicle-kilometers. Several accidents today have affected the flow, including pile-ups resulting in significant delays. Tomorrow, the traffic volume is expected to increase, prompting warnings and traffic control measures on the highways.
