A severe fire broke out in Tu Cheng District, New Taipei City, taking the lives of three individuals. The fire was caused by a lithium-ion battery explosion in the living room on the 4th floor, blocking the escape route with intense flames. A woman and her son, along with her daughter's boyfriend, attempted to flee upstairs but were overwhelmed by thick smoke moving upwards. The mother and son were sent to the hospital but did not survive, while the daughter's boyfriend tragically perished in the fire. The interior of the residence was also exposed earlier. Police and firefighters responded in large numbers to the rescue operation.
