Recently in Sichuan, a family of four in Miyi City mistakenly ate poisonous Amanita mushrooms, resulting in one death and three family members currently in critical condition in the ICU. The incident occurred when the mother and brother of Xiao Peng (pseudonym) inadvertently brought the toxic mushrooms home from the nearby mountain for cooking. Despite medical efforts, Xiao Peng's 69-year-old grandfather passed away due to poisoning, while his 15-year-old brother, 42-year-old mother, and 37-year-old father are still in life-threatening conditions, with medical expenses exceeding 300,000 RMB. Doctors warn of the long incubation period and severe liver and kidney damage caused by Amanita poisoning, advising against consuming wild mushrooms and prompt medical attention in case of adverse reactions.
