Due to loosened rocks from continuous heavy rain, Taiwan Railway's Tze-chiang train 229 collided with falling rocks between Chongde and He Ren at 16:50 today, resulting in 9 injuries, including one driver, with the oldest victim at 77 years old and the youngest at 4. The driver suffered a fracture in the hand, while passengers mostly sustained minor injuries. Hualien County Magistrate Hsu Chen-wei urged the transportation department to investigate the incident, with the injured being sent to various hospitals for treatment.
