Transformer Explosion Injures Two Electrical Workers with 'Second-Degree Burns' on Faces in Taiwan

A workplace safety accident occurred in Taichung City, Taiwan on the afternoon of June 17, 2024, as two workers from Taiwan Power Company were injured by high-temperature insulating oil splashes after a transformer exploded during maintenance. The cause of the accident is under investigation by Taiwan Power Company and the Taichung City Government's Labor Inspection Office sent personnel to clarify the situation. The injured workers, around 40 years old, suffered 5% second-degree burns on their faces but were conscious and not in critical condition, receiving treatment at Taichung Hospital.
