Transport of heavy 'super load' prompts congestion warning in Ohio

Reported 7 months ago

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that carriers in Ohio will transport a 458-ton 'super load' of heavy equipment to Licking County’s new Intel chip manufacturing plant, starting from the Ohio River near Manchester and ending in New Albany. The load, an air processor for silicon chip manufacturing, measures 23 feet tall, 20 feet wide, and 280 feet long, weighing 916,000 pounds. With stops in multiple cities along the route, the move is expected to cause significant traffic impacts, and ODOT encourages drivers to plan ahead to avoid delays.
