There are rumors in the travel industry that the government is considering raising the travel warning for China, potentially due to recent cases involving Taiwanese visitors being detained or investigated upon entry, linked to China’s national security and anti-spying laws. There is talk that the Mainland Affairs Council will announce an increase in the travel alert for China, possibly jumping three levels to an orange alert, as a countermeasure to China’s 22 measures targeting Taiwan independence. This news was originally set to be released on the 25th, but was delayed to avoid overshadowing other news.
