Reported about 1 year ago
According to Cti Tv News, on June 10, 2024, at 6:59 am, a mainland Chinese man drove a speedboat into the Tamsui River Estuary in New Taipei City yesterday at around 11 am, prompting coast guard personnel to intercept and arrest him at the Fishermen's Wharf. As a precaution against possible infiltration by the People's Liberation Army from Tamsui, the Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion will be stationed there starting in July, yet they were preempted by the mainland speedboat. The coast guard caught the man and seized the speedboat after receiving reports and monitoring suspicious activity, fueling concerns about military readiness and coastal security.
