According to SET News, convective development was observed in central, southern, and northern mountainous areas of Taiwan on June 17, showcasing potential local showers and thunderstorms. Meteorologist Wu Derong mentioned that temperatures across Taiwan were high, reaching 35 to 36 degrees Celsius in the western part and 37 degrees in the eastern part. A tropical disturbance is predicted for next week which may lead to a typhoon formation, although its impact on Taiwan is uncertain due to the influence of the Pacific high pressure system diverting the prevailing winds towards Hainan Island and Guangdong.
