President Trump has nominated Stephen Miran, current chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, to replace Adriana Kugler on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, following Kugler's resignation. Miran will serve until Kugler's term expires on January 31, 2026, while the president seeks a long-term replacement for the position. Miran, who has a PhD in Economics from Harvard and previously advised Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin, still requires Senate confirmation.
