U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer stated that the tariffs imposed by President Trump on various countries last week are unlikely to be altered as negotiations continue. These include significant rates like 35% on Canadian goods and 50% on Brazilian imports. Despite some reductions made in previous negotiations, Greer emphasized that the latest round of tariffs is largely fixed due to existing agreements and trade balances. He also highlighted positive discussions with China regarding rare earth materials.
