A report from BloombergNEF indicates that annual clean-energy installations in the US are projected to drop by 41% after 2027, predominantly due to the discontinuation of wind and solar tax credits under Donald Trump's economic policy. This decline will leave installations at 48 gigawatts in 2028, compared to 81 gigawatts previously, as developers rush to finish projects before the incentives expire. The loss of federal subsidies poses a serious threat to the renewable energy sector, especially solar, where only 30% of planned projects may remain competitive without the credits.
