Kuomintang Chairman Eric Chu criticized President Tsai Ing-wen for declaring war on democracy by seeking a constitutional interpretation to expand parliament's powers, after the Legislative Yuan rejected the administration's parliamentary powers reform reconsideration proposal. Chu accused Tsai of using double standards to smear and attack the opposition party, igniting opposition from 60% of the public. He further expressed regret over Tsai's confrontational approach and emphasized the KMT's commitment to upholding the Constitution and pursuing justice through parliamentary reform.
