Tsai Ming-liang Sells Paintings to Raise Money for Repairing Abandoned Townhouse, Hopes to Transform it into Mini Art Gallery

Reported over 1 year ago

Tsai Ming-liang, an internationally renowned director, announced on Facebook that he plans to sell paintings to raise funds in order to renovate abandoned townhouses next to his home, turning them into art studios or a small art gallery. He purchased 10 abandoned townhouses on a hill in Xindian a decade ago, and now intends to restore some of them for his painting activities. Unable to demolish and rebuild due to the location being on a hill slope, Tsai decided to sell three of his paintings to ease the financial burden of the renovation project.
