Following TSMC's establishment in Kikuyo Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, in Japan, to promote exchanges with Taiwan, the town office announced a travel subsidy plan to Taiwan starting next month, providing each person with a ¥10,000 subsidy for travel expenses. The subsidy is available for residents of Kikuyo Town visiting Taiwan for tourism purposes and must take flights from and back to Kumamoto Airport. Applications must be submitted within 30 days after the trip, and the subsidy is limited to a certain number of people. The town aims to boost Taiwan-Japan exchanges with this initiative.
