According to FTNN News, the screw manufacturer, Jinhe, revealed that TSMC has been luring technical experts with salaries as high as 70,000 NTD to its U.S. plant, causing a talent drain. In response, Jinhe announced the construction of new employee residences where they only need to cover utility costs and can live for 15 years, after which the residences will be gifted to the employees. In collaboration with Kaohsiung's Economic Development Bureau, Jinhe is building these residences to retain talent. The housing project is under review by the Ministry of the Interior. The city planning department is revising regulations to offer incentives for companies to build employee dorms and donate social housing concurrently.
