TSMC's Third 2-nanometer Plant in Kaohsiung Passes EIA; City Government Guarantees No Water and Electricity Issues

TSMC's third P3 plant in Kaohsiung, covering 17.22 hectares, has been approved to change to a Category A industrial zone by the Kaohsiung Urban Planning Committee and has passed the Environmental Impact Assessment on June 25, 2024. After resolving soil pollution issues, it can proceed with applying for construction permits. The city government assures that water and electricity supply for the plant is secure. The project is part of Taiwan's semiconductor industry development plan, aiming to transform the area into a hub for advanced semiconductor industries and research.
