TSMC discusses moving fabs out of Taiwan but deems it impossible

Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC has considered relocating its fabrication plants due to tensions with China, but Chairman C.C. Wei stated that with 80-90% of production capacity in Taiwan, such a move is infeasible. This comes amid increased military activity near Taiwan and discussions at the Computex technology trade show about the importance of Taiwan in the global chip supply chain. Industry leaders like Frank Huang and Lisa Su emphasized the significance of Taiwan's role in the semiconductor industry despite geopolitical risks.
