In Izmir, a coastal city of Turkey, a massive gas explosion on June 30 resulted in at least 5 deaths and 63 injuries. Images circulating on social media depicted the aftermath of the explosion with shattered debris. The initial assessment by the Turkish interior minister suggested it was caused by industrial gas canisters. The explosion not only destroyed a building but also affected surrounding houses and vehicles, prompting evacuations and tight security measures by the police to prevent further damage.
