On June 30, 2024, TVBS was on board the Dutch frigate Tromp, where the captain confirmed that while heading north through the Taiwan Strait in June, there were no abnormalities. However, during a UN mission in the East China Sea, a Chinese helicopter approached the Tromp's helicopter at close range, posing a dangerous situation. Additionally, the Tromp is equipped with advanced radars for detecting ballistic missiles. The Tromp embarked on a six-month voyage 'Pacific Shooter 2024' visiting six countries, including passing through the Taiwan Strait from Vietnam to South Korea without incident. The Dutch military emphasized participating in the Indo-Pacific military exercise to strengthen the rights of freedom of navigation in international waters.
