Early this morning on July 2, two consecutive earthquakes occurred in the Liuying district of Tainan City within 2 minutes, with the first registering a Richter scale magnitude of 4 and the second with a magnitude of 3.4. The earthquakes were felt in various areas with maximum intensities ranging from 1 to 2. Experts note that while it is rare for Tainan to experience earthquakes, Taiwan's location in a tectonic plate boundary zone means earthquakes can happen anywhere, with no specific unusual phenomena observed.
