Two Men Admit to Damaging Beyond Singer Wong Ka Kui's Tombstone in Court; Defense Claims Defendants 'Hyperactive, Autistic' Seeking Lenient Sentence

Reported 11 months ago

Two men have admitted in court to maliciously damaging the tombstone of Beyond's late lead singer, Wong Ka Kui, in Hong Kong. The defense lawyer appealed for leniency for the 15-year-old defendant, stating that he suffers from hyperactivity and autism and committed the act to gain popularity. The judge postponed the sentencing to July 16. The incident involved the 15-year-old student and 23-year-old air conditioner technician, with the former being a self-proclaimed fan of Wong Ka Kui and the latter filming the act at the student's request. The defendants confessed to a charge of 'criminal damage' in court. Beyond, a legendary rock band in Hong Kong, was founded in 1983.
