On March 27 last year, a two-star police officer named Zhuang from the Taipei City Police Youth Corps was fatally injured after his motorcycle first brushed against a flashing light on the roadside and then collided with an illegally parked truck. The District Prosecutor's Office in Shilin has concluded the investigation and decided to prosecute the truck driver surnamed Qiu for negligent homicide. Zhuang, who commuted from Xizhi District in New Taipei City to Xinyi District in Taipei every day, was traveling at about 73 km/h in a 50 km/h speed limit zone, leading to the fatal accident.
