Two Taipei Police Officers Prosecuted for Corruption after Deliberately Letting Unlicensed Parked Vehicles Go with Informant Watching the Whole Process

Two police officers surname Ying and surname Ye from the Shezi Police Station of the Shilin Branch in Taipei were prosecuted for corruption after letting a vehicle parked illegally without a license plate go in 2022. The informant, who witnessed the officers allowing the driver to drive away without issuing a ticket, reported the incident to the Shilin District Prosecutors Office, resulting in the prosecution of the two officers under the Anti-Corruption Act. The Shilin Police Station respected the investigation results and suspended the two officers pending the judicial investigation, emphasizing that they will cooperate fully with the court trial and hold those involved accountable for their negligence in supervision.
