The Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market, a major event in the animation industry, featured outstanding performances by Taiwanese works with a record number of nominations. Short films 'Hi Dad' and 'Is It Time to Let Go Now?' were nominated in the competition section, while the short film projects 'Recover All and Be Happy' and 'Long-Distance Call' were selected for the market's official proposal section, aiming to attract international resources. 'Hi Dad,' directed by Wang Weifan, garnered attention for its emotional and introspective animation focusing on the inner world of LGBTQ individuals and had also been nominated for the 2024 FIRE!! Barcelona LGBT Film Festival and Zagreb International Animation Film Festival. 'Is It Time to Let Go Now?' directed by award-winning animator Tsai Yijin, weaves together family home videos, animation, and experimental footage to depict the daughter's perspective on losing her father over a 13-year period. The film had also been selected for the 2023 Asian Cinemascape Dance Film Festival, 2024 Seattle International Film Festival, and Palm Springs International ShortFest.
