The U.S. Army announced on June 15th that the 'Mobile Short-Range Air Defense System' (M-SHORAD) vehicle will be named after the late Sergeant Stoet, who sacrificed his life to protect his comrades during the Vietnam War and posthumously received the Medal of Honor. The vehicle features a Stryker chassis, a rotating turret, and is equipped with missiles, cannons, and machine guns for enhanced air defense capabilities. The U.S. Army has purchased 162 of these vehicles, with plans to potentially acquire more for a total fleet of 361, forming 4 National Guard air defense battalions. Chief of Staff Weymo unveiled the vehicle's new name at the ceremony held in Virginia on the Army's 249th anniversary.
