U.S. Oil Majors Thrive While Smaller Producers Struggle Amid Price Declines

Reported 1 day ago

Despite a significant drop in oil prices, U.S. oil production reached a record high of 13.58 million barrels per day in June 2025, driven primarily by major oil companies. However, smaller producers are experiencing a decline, with outputs expected to fall by 200-250 kb/d in the latter half of the year. This trend indicates that while larger companies continue to grow, the overall growth rate in the oil sector is slowing, particularly in Texas. OPEC+ is also gradually unwinding production cuts, although the market remains cautious about the overall supply increase.
