U.S. Steel has appointed three American directors to its board, following Nippon Steel's $14.9 billion acquisition of the company. Now a subsidiary of Nippon, U.S. Steel's board consists of seven members, with four being U.S. citizens, including three independent directors. The new members include notable figures such as John Donovan, Robert Stevens, and Timothy Keating. This appointment aligns with a national security agreement made with the Trump administration, which requires a U.S. majority on the board and an American CEO to alleviate concerns over the deal.
