Nick Diaz will make his return to the Octagon after nearly three years to face Vicente Luque in a five-round co-main event at UFC Abu Dhabi on August 3, as announced by UFC CEO Dana White. The event will also feature a welterweight battle between Tony Ferguson and Michael Chiesa, with the winner of a fight between Cory Sandhagen and Umar Nurmagomedov earning a bantamweight title shot. Diaz's last fight was in September 2021, and he has not won a fight since 2011. Other matches on the card include Marlon "Chito" Vera vs. Deiveson Figueiredo and Mackenzie Dern vs. Loopy Godinez.
