The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres' spokesperson confirmed on June 7 that Israel, Hamas, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group will be added to the blacklist for violating children's rights in an upcoming report on 'Children and Armed Conflict'. This move has sparked strong Israeli discontent but also highlighted international concerns about the humanitarian crisis, refugees, and violations of children's rights caused by the Israel-Palestine conflict. The report covers violations including killings, maiming, sexual violence, recruitment or use of children, denial of humanitarian aid, and attacks on schools and hospitals. Israel, being the only democratic country included, is expected to be released on June 18, with the report being submitted to the UN Security Council on June 14.
