In Miaoli, a police officer attempted to make an online purchase at 3:00 AM, but the transaction failed due to a page error. However, while he was asleep, there was a foreign credit card charge of $100, approximately NT$4,000. He woke up to a notification from the bank and promptly stopped the payment. Authorities also discovered phishing scams involving fake water bill reminders with shortened URLs and false postal service notifications. The officer believes his credit card information was compromised due to online shopping, highlighting the importance of promptly reporting and disputing suspicious transactions.
