In Keelung, Taiwan, a scam involving a victim wanting to withdraw 500,000 NTD to purchase virtual currency was foiled by bank staff who alerted the police. A special task force guided the victim to meet the suspect at a convenience store, where a recent police academy graduate disguised as a customer helped lower the suspect's guard, leading to his arrest. Despite the suspect's attempts to deny his actions, he was apprehended and taken into custody for fraud. The case was transferred to the Keelung District Prosecutor's Office for further investigation.
