On June 15, 2024, at around 11 a.m., a waterspout was spotted at sea by a person on a ferry in Donggang, Pingtung, creating a surprising natural spectacle. The footage showed the waterspout appearing and disappearing, gradually dissipating over time. While waterspouts at sea have a longer duration and higher intensity compared to land tornadoes, they are slightly smaller in diameter. This phenomenon, also known as a sea spout or water tornado, can pose risks to maritime navigation due to its ability to suck in boats, earning the title of 'King of the Wind'.
