A small food stall in Taichung, Taiwan selling seafood congee and beef noodles near China Medical University was exposed by netizens for the owner allegedly smoking while cooking, sparking concerns about hygiene and food safety. The owner denied smoking while cooking but was captured on video with a cigarette in his mouth while handling utensils. Public reaction expressed worry about ash falling into the food, with many finding the sight unappetizing and unhygienic. Health authorities inspected the stall and found hygiene issues, warning of penalties ranging from 60,000 to 300,000 NTD if improvements are not made.
