Chairman of Uni-President Group, Lo Chih-hsien, stated that there is no limit for the expansion of convenience stores in Taiwan, especially with Carrefour joining in, indicating a lot of space for supermarket expansion. Following this, Taiwan 7-ELEVEN announced the opening of their 7,000th store in Tainan, with plans for the significant 7,111th store opening in November. Uni-President emphasized that Carrefour and Uni-President Supermarket are independent brands climbing their own mountains, with Carrefour's large-scale retail stores having potential for 500 outlets. Additionally, upscale supermarket Mia C’bon recently opened in Kaohsiung, aiming to become a specialty store for Wagyu beef. Furthermore, the latest store openings in Tainan for 7-ELEVEN, Watsons, and Starbucks have attracted attention and are contributing to the retail sector's continuous growth in Taiwan.
