United Therapeutics Corporation (UTHR) has initiated its first human clinical trial for UKidney, a gene-edited pig kidney, aimed at patients with end-stage renal disease. After receiving FDA clearance in February 2025, the trial will start with six patients, with plans to eventually include fifty. UTHR is also enhancing its organ production facility in Maryland to support large-scale bioengineered organ manufacturing.
