On June 13, 2024, the university individual application results were released, showing a shortage of 118 self-funded students in medical schools nationwide, with the leading National Taiwan University Medical College experiencing an unprecedented shortage of 3 public-funded students. Additionally, the medical college at National Taiwan University has transitioned to considering social science scores instead of English scores from the 115th academic year onwards, with mixed student reactions. The remaining 3 vacancies will be allocated in July, and related regulations have also been modified to focus on social sciences and humanities skills instead of English proficiency.
