On July 3, 2024, Huwei University of Science and Technology and Taiwan's 'Mother of Heavenly Matriarch Fish' Conservation Alliance signed a memorandum of sustainable action to track the ecological paths of Taiwan's critically endangered Class I conservation white dolphins using unmanned drone flight control technology. This collaboration aims to save on ship costs, solve the issue of ships not being able to enter deep-water areas, and avoid disturbing whales and dolphins. With only approximately 80 to 90 white dolphins left in Taiwan, efforts like the Taiwan White Dolphin Drone and Campus Collaboration Survey Project are crucial for their conservation.
