A 30-year-old woman presented with abdominal bloating, pain, vomiting, and diarrhea in the emergency room, and was diagnosed with the rare 'eosinophilic gastroenteritis'. Dr. Li Zhengqi, a specialist in gastrointestinal diseases at the Chengqing Hospital, suggested that this atypical gastrointestinal inflammation, common in individuals with allergies, might have been triggered by dust mites. If left untreated, it could lead to recurrent episodes. The patient's condition improved after receiving steroid treatment, emphasizing the importance of completing the medication course to prevent relapse.
