Unusual Sight in the Sky! 'Flying Saucer Cloud' Appears, Meteorological Bureau Explains Cause: Evident on the East Side of Yangmingshan

Reported about 1 year ago

Recently, many people have captured the unusual sight of 'flying saucer clouds.' The correct name for these clouds is 'lenticular clouds.' When a stable and 'moist' air current blows over hills, it creates a wave-like up and down movement. As the air current is forced to rise, vapor condenses into clouds when it cools, and when the air current descends and warms up, the clouds evaporate back into invisible vapor, causing the lenticular clouds to form. These clouds have been particularly visible on the east side of Yangmingshan due to a strong high-altitude southwest wind. The clouds are not a sign of extraterrestrial activity or impending disaster but are a natural phenomenon related to the topography.
