Unwanted Expressions of Kindness Leads to Police Intervention over Red Packets

Reported 7 months ago

In Taipei, a landlord found his door crevice repeatedly stuffed with red packets, sometimes up to ten at a time. Upon installing a surveillance camera, the culprit was revealed to be a tenant who not only left red packets and gifts but also conducted worshipping rituals at the doorstep. The landlord reported the disturbing behavior to the police, ultimately resulting in fines and rejection of appeals against intentional harassment charges under social order laws. Despite the tenant's explanation of loneliness and affection for the landlord's child, the excessive gestures crossed legal boundaries and led to the tenant's relocation with the help of local authorities to curb the recurring gift-giving at the landlord's residence.
