Due to the influence of the Pacific high pressure, various areas in Taiwan are experiencing high temperatures, with sporadic brief showers in the southern region and localized thunderstorms in the central to northern areas, northeast region, eastern region, and mountainous areas in the afternoon. The Central Weather Bureau has issued a special heavy rain alert covering 10 counties and cities, with an immediate thunderstorm warning issued for Taipei City. Currently, heavy rainfall is occurring in Taipei City, particularly in Wanhua District where water is accumulating up to ankle-height. The weather bureau warns of the possibility of localized heavy rain in various areas throughout the day.
