According to a study by the Building and Climate Laboratory (BCLab) at National Cheng Kung University, on June 22, Taipei, New Taipei, and Taoyuan may see their high-temperature areas connected and expanding, similar to the situation where the heat island in Tokyo has expanded 60 kilometers, making cooling down in the future more difficult. Professor Lin Ziping mentioned that residents in urban areas will face dual heat stress from climate change and urban heat islands, with the high-temperature regions possibly becoming a tropical zone from Keelung to Taoyuan, making heat dissipation even more challenging.
