Central Weather Bureau issued a heatwave alert at 11:27 p.m. on June 28, 2024, for 16 counties and cities, with a yellow warning for high temperatures in Taoyuan City, Miaoli County, Hualien County, and Taitung County, and an orange 36 warning for Taipei City, New Taipei City, Hsinchu County, Taichung City, Changhua County, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County. Temperatures may reach 38 degrees, advising people to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, labor, and exercise, apply sunscreen, drink plenty of water, and be cautious of heat injuries.
